Privacy Policy

App: Contacts: Caller ID & Blocker Effective date: September 3, 2026

Contacts: Caller ID & Blocker (the "App") is built to manage your contacts, name the person behind an incoming call, and keep unwanted and spam calls away from you. This policy explains, in plain terms, what the App does with information — written by its developer ("we", "us", "our"). Installing or continuing to use the App signals that these practices are acceptable to you; where they are not, the App should not be installed.

1. Information Involved

The App handles the following, and only where you have granted the matching permission:

  • Contact records — names and telephone numbers held on your handset. They populate your contact list and let an incoming number be matched to a person.
  • Call history — entries in the device call log along with the numbers of calls you receive and make, which drive the recent-calls view and caller identification.
  • Blocked and reported numbers — numbers you block, plus any you flag as spam, retained together with a device identifier so that filtering keeps working.
  • Technical signals — handset model, Android release, App build, language setting, device identifiers, anonymous counts of feature use, and crash or diagnostic output.

Contacts and call history remain on your device throughout. Nothing in these categories is sold, and nothing is passed to outside parties beyond what appears below.

2. The Permissions Requested

Nothing is asked for in advance of the feature that requires it:

Permission Reason it is needed
Contacts — read and write Displaying, creating, editing, and organising your contact list
Phone (CALL_PHONE, READ_PHONE_STATE) Placing calls and recognising an active call
Call Log Building call history and recent-call screens
Notifications Informing you of incoming calls and of calls that were blocked

Android settings let you revoke any of these at will; whatever depends on the revoked permission simply stops until you restore it.

3. Purpose of Processing

Information serves these ends and no others: operating contact management, caller identification, call history, and blocking; maintaining the spam filter's effectiveness; keeping the App stable and correcting crashes; measuring general usage through analytics; presenting advertising to users on the free tier; activating and restoring subscriptions; and improving the App. Personal information is never sold or rented.

4. Advertising and the Free Tier

Users who have not subscribed see advertising supplied by third-party networks, Google AdMob among them. Those networks may read the advertising identifier on your device and similar technical signals in order to choose which ads to display, personalised ones included where the law allows. Android settings let you disable ad personalisation or reset the advertising identifier at any point. Once a subscription is active, advertising disappears from the App.

Google's own account of how it uses data in advertising is published at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

5. Subscription Payments

An optional subscription is offered; it removes advertising and opens the App's pro features. Payment is handled start to finish by the Google Play billing system. Card details, billing addresses, and anything comparable go to Google and are covered by Google's privacy policy — none of it is transmitted to us. All we obtain is an anonymous purchase token, used exclusively to activate the subscription and restore it after a reinstall or a change of device. Records of purchases are retained no longer than tax and accounting obligations demand.

6. Services Supplied by Others

Third-party components operate within the App, each subject to its own privacy policy, which we recommend reading:

  • Google Play Services
  • Firebase — analytics and crash reporting
  • Google AdMob — advertising
  • Google Play billing — subscription payments

The way these providers process data is not under our direction.

7. Security Measures

Reasonable technical and organisational protections are applied to what the App processes. Nonetheless, since no electronic transmission or storage method can be called perfectly secure, absolute security cannot honestly be guaranteed.

8. Choices That Remain Yours

At any moment you may grant or withdraw permissions in Android settings, amend or delete contacts, empty your call history, lift a block on a number, switch off ad personalisation, or remove the App entirely — uninstalling clears the App's local data from the handset.

9. Children

This App is not intended for children below 13, or below 16 where regional law fixes that age, and personal information is not knowingly collected from them. Anything received in error is deleted once identified. A subscription taken out by a minor is valid only with a parent's or guardian's prior agreement; enabling purchase authentication within Google Play stops charges completing on a child's handset without an adult's approval. Parents and guardians with concerns are welcome to write to the address at the foot of this policy.

10. Legal Rights by Region

Should you be located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, applicable law grants you rights of access, rectification, erasure, and restriction over your personal data, the right to withdraw consent, and the right to lodge a complaint with your Data Protection Authority. Comparable entitlements exist for residents of several United States jurisdictions, among them the ability to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. A message to the address below is sufficient to exercise any of these.

11. Removing Your Data

The App functions without any account. Contacts, call history, and block lists are stored locally and disappear when deleted through the App or when the App is uninstalled. If you wish anything held by us to be erased, write to us and the request will be handled within a reasonable time.

12. Amendments

This policy may be amended as circumstances require. The version in force, with its effective date, is always the one published here. Continued use following an amendment indicates acceptance of it.
