App: Phone Call
Effective date: September 16, 2026

This policy comes from the developer of Phone Call ("we", "us", "our") and explains the treatment of information that arises when the application (the "App") is used. The App serves as a dialer and contact organiser: it places and receives calls, holds a contact list, keeps a record of calls, works out who is ringing, and screens numbers you would rather not take. Installing the App, or carrying on with it, signifies acceptance of the practices set out here. Anyone who does not accept them should refrain from installing it.

1. Categories of Information

Subject to the permissions granted, the App works with four categories of data:

  • Contact entries. Names and telephone numbers held on the handset, used to populate the contact list and to match an incoming number to a known person.
  • Call records. Entries drawn from the device call log, together with the numbers of calls placed and received, used to produce the history view and to support caller identification.
  • Blocked and reported numbers. Retained with a device identifier so that filtering continues to operate across sessions.
  • Technical and diagnostic signals. Handset make and model, Android release, App build, language setting, device identifiers, aggregate counts of feature use, crash traces and performance logs.

Contact entries and call records are processed on the handset. Neither category is sold, and neither is disclosed to any party beyond those identified in this policy.

2. Permissions Requested

  • Contacts (read and write) — displaying, creating, amending and arranging the contact list.
  • Phone (CALL_PHONE, READ_PHONE_STATE) — initiating calls and detecting an active call.
  • Call Log — constructing the call history and recent-call views.
  • Notifications — announcing incoming calls and blocked-call activity.

No permission is sought in advance of the feature requiring it. Each may be revoked through Android's settings, whereupon the dependent feature is suspended until it is granted afresh.

3. Purposes for Which Data Is Processed

Processing serves the following ends and no others: delivery of contact management, dialling, call history, caller identification and blocking; maintenance of the spam filter's effectiveness; preservation of stability and the correction of faults; measurement of aggregate usage to guide development; presentation of advertising to users of the free tier; and the activation and restoration of subscriptions. Personal information is neither sold nor rented in any circumstance.

4. Advertising

Advertising is presented to users who have not subscribed and is supplied by third-party networks, among them Google AdMob. Such networks may read the handset's advertising identifier and comparable technical signals in order to determine which advertisement to display, personalised where the law so permits. Android's settings allow the identifier to be reset or removed and personalisation to be disabled at any point. Throughout the period a subscription remains active, the App displays no advertising.

Google's own explanation of its use of data for advertising purposes is published at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

5. Subscriptions and Payment Data

An optional subscription is available, which removes advertising and unlocks the App's premium functionality. Payment is administered in its entirety by the Google Play billing system. Card numbers, billing addresses and equivalent particulars are received and held by Google under Google's own privacy policy; they do not reach us at any stage. What we obtain is an anonymous purchase token, employed exclusively to enable the subscription and to restore it following reinstallation or a change of handset. Records of purchases are retained solely for the period prescribed by tax and accounting law.

6. Third-Party Components

The App incorporates Google Play Services; Firebase for analytics and crash reporting; Google AdMob for advertising; and Google Play billing for subscription payments. Each is governed by a privacy policy of its own that we encourage you to consult. The manner in which these providers process data is determined by them and not by us.

7. Security

Appropriate technical and organisational safeguards are applied to the information the App processes. Notwithstanding these measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission may properly be described as entirely secure, and absolute security therefore cannot be guaranteed.

8. Controls Retained by the User

At any time you may grant or withdraw permissions in Android's settings, amend or delete contact entries, clear the call history, release a blocked number, disable ad personalisation, or uninstall the App — uninstallation removing its locally held data from the handset.

9. Minors

The App is not directed at persons under 13 years of age, or under 16 in regions whose law establishes that threshold, and personal information is not knowingly collected from children. Any such information received in error is deleted upon identification. A subscription entered into by a minor is valid only where a parent or legal guardian consented in advance; the enabling of purchase authentication within Google Play prevents charges from completing on a child's handset absent an adult's approval. Parents and guardians with concerns are invited to write to the address given below.

10. Rights Conferred by Regional Law

Persons situated in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland hold rights of access, rectification, erasure and restriction in respect of their personal data, together with the right to withdraw consent and the right to lodge a complaint with a Data Protection Authority. Residents of several United States jurisdictions enjoy comparable entitlements, including the right to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. Correspondence to the address below is sufficient to exercise any such right.

11. Deletion of Data

Use of the App requires no account. Contact entries, call history and block lists reside on the handset and are removed when deleted within the App or when the App is uninstalled. Should you wish anything retained by us to be erased, write to us and the request will be actioned within a reasonable period.

12. Amendment

This policy may be amended from time to time. The version currently operative, bearing its effective date, is invariably the version published on this page, and continued use following an amendment constitutes acceptance of it.
